A dull outline of a human being watched over a person with pink hair sobbing, tears rolling down onto a body's motionless form. He smiled sadly at the sight, pulling some blue from his pocket and holding it out towards the man. A familiar tune poured from his lips. A melody that he would sing before bed most nights; a reminder that he would always have a friend - no matter what.
Or: Technoblade is no stranger to blood. His life seems a meaningless, endless cycle, one driven by the voices in his head, who are his only companions. Until he stumbles across someone with scruffy brown curls. Who is remarkably endearing. Techno has never really had a friend before. But as he finds, there is a good reason for that…

Summary
Jack pushed forward, eager to get to his office and turn the air-con on. But as he stepped into the cavernous atrium, a shape half hidden in the shadows by the triceratops exhibit caught his eye. As he marched over, it became clear it was a person. But people weren’t supposed to be that still. Were they? Dread pooled in Jack’s stomach as he drew closer, and his hands began to shake, the keys he clutched jangling and echoing in the silent room.
A body was slumped against the glass exhibit, a spear he recognised from the stone age exhibit protruding from her chest. She was dead. That fact was painstakingly obvious as Jack stopped in front of her

Summary
Tommy had never felt peace like in that moment. Techno’s fingers, scratching his scalp gently with Tommy’s head in his lap. The comforting sounds of his older brother’s steady breathing and gentle rainfall against the windowpane. And in that moment, with the ghost of a smile on his face, Tommy died. And another soul blinked out of existence.

Summary
He clicks on Gotham Wikipedia with bated breath. And it doesn’t take long for Peter to figure out just how bad the situation is. Gotham isn’t just a city, it’s apparently a hellhole. What kind of villain playground is this world running? How could anyone let it get this bad? Where is the government? Where are the heroes?
Peter’s heart swells at the thought. He needs heroes! They’ll be able to help him! The first thing that pops up is a website- JusticeLeague.Org.

Peter, like any 14 year old superhero, really wants to catch a break. He's just a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, nothing special. Well, only if you don't look at his biology ever since the radioactive spider bite. And his extensive track record of running away and deaths in his life. And that his foster-dad is Tony Stark. And that his mentors are the Avengers. And the fact that he was randomly kidnapped one morning on his way to school and now he's in an alternate universe with a bunch of different superheroes that keep stalking him.He thinks they mean well, but they're really weird. Besides that Red Hood guy. He's pretty cool.

Peter was "The Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man!" after all, and wasn’t he letting Queens - his people - down if he didn’t fight tooth and nail to get back to them?

People who actually live in Gotham City would only think of one thing: surviving.
Who cares about the people in costumes when your house has been bombed for the fifth time, or your wife has been taken hostage just because she worked in a bank?
Or, in your case, when you have to make regular deliveries to places where even Batman feared to tread?
Because let's face it. In a world full of superheroes and costumed villains, the real heroes are the ones who make sure that people get their pizzas in forty-five minutes or less.

The laugh was slight, barely even one. “Still feels weird.” Stephen smiled; it was small and didn’t cause the edges of his eyes to crease.

It only took ten seconds for everything to fall apart. Which, to Peter Parker, felt like some kind of record. featuring a soul stone embedded in a sternum, a group of miscommunicating siblings, clones, and a cult with a sinister plot to bring about doom.
