Summary
Arthur is a world class violinist, trapped in Sydney, Australia, by his fear of flying. In the wake of a mediocre concert, vicious critics and with barely a month to go before his next (hopefully reputation-saving) recital, Arthur is almost at breaking point. When his accompanist, Morgana, breaks her wrist in a car accident, Arthur is more or less doomed. And the story begins, when the Maestro at the conservatoire, Gaius Stresemann, recommends his protege Merlin Emrys to step in. Merlin, who plays by ear, as he pleases and really just wants to be a kindergarten teacher.
Well. The story really starts six months previously when Arthur passes out drunk outside Merlin's shoe-box apartment.

Summary
"Uh... c'mere.... ghosty ghosty?" Danny winces at his words.
"Please don't have rabies. Please don't have rabies. Please d-"
A small furred head butts against his gloved hand. Danny pries one eye open and all the tension drains from him at once.
"Oh. You're just a cat."
The cat looks worse for wear. He thinks it was black and white once but it's so covered in dirt and... other substances that it's fur is a dirty grey. It looks far too skinny, too. Danny doesn't know a lot about cats but he's pretty sure you're not supposed to see their ribs. And most damningly, in Danny's opinion, when he pets the poor things head it tries to purr only to cut itself off with an awful coughing that makes Danny's throat hurt in sympathy.
Danny looks down at the cat, still rubbing against his hand. He can’t just leave it there... Danny spares a glance up at his apartment. He could bring it back up but he's not sure it would handle the flight or phasing well and he doesn't want to leave it alone so...
Jazz will be fine. He'll text her as soon as he gets back.

Arthur snatched his sword up from the ground, rolled back onto his feet and lunged forward quickly to bring the point to Merlin's chest and keep him away. "Stay where you are," he said and Merlin stopped, his eyes going wide in panic.
