Summary
Five years after the war, Draco Malfoy has fought everything and everyone to get to where he is. Sure, his mental health might be shit, but he has a job and that's something, right? He thought that having an Auror drop in for a surprise inspection of his Potions' lab was bad enough, but why is the Auror wearing a glamour? And why is the custom potion he wants so urgent and shrouded in secrecy? When people start dying, Draco gets consulted for a case with none other than Auror bloody Potter.
Aka a semi self-indulgent fic where Draco is a very smart, broken, soft boy and Harry is a big bad Auror who actually kind of has his shit together... maybe. Probably not. A lot of people want to cause problems for them. But Harry has a bit of a 'thing' for saving people. And Draco definitely needs saving. But progress isn't linear and it's much easier to heal when you aren't entirely alone.

The first time Draco showed that he loved Harry (though neither of them would call it that until years later), he’d been drowning in an ocean of terror and the world had narrowed to emerald green eyes. Well, one eye at least. Aunt Bella had shoved the wizard to his knees and beckoned to Draco like the witch in Muggle fairy tales, but Draco had obeyed.

Summary
Harry had heard, of course, that Draco Malfoy had gone into the private investigator business after resurfacing a few years back. The Ministry had been rife with rumors of all the elusive, high-end cases Malfoy had recently solved, and Harry had no doubt that those rumors were carefully crafted bullshit spread by the 'detective' himself.
At first, everyone had been itching for any information that could be found about Malfoy's new business. Harry had fallen prey to that same curiosity—purely because he was surrounded by it day in and day out, not because he had any interest in it himself—and had taken some morally grey avenues to learn what he could.
Ultimately, he had discovered that the Ministry was an absolute shitshow when it came to anything non-magical. There were no forms, no permits, and no qualifications required for someone to be a private investigator and, unless they did something inherently illegal, they could remain utterly invisible.
Invisible, until they're assigned to the same case.
