Summary
Shen Qingqiu takes on a mission to retrieve a rare medicinal plant that only grows in one place: The Labyrinthine Forest. It's a place so saturated with residual qi that a guide is necessary, lest one make zero headway into the woods or, worse, get forever lost in the endless maze of trees. The best fit for the job is a fellow Immortal known only as the Turtle Sage, whose knowledge of the Forest is all that will get Shen Qingqiu to the plant and back home safely.
He expects the Sage to be a grisled, half-feral man, bushy and wild and smelly -- not, you know, an actual turtle.

Big and small, of land, air, and sea. It didn’t matter what it was but the animals were just drawn to Rin and understood him just as much as he seemed to go to and understand them. After one too many weird situations, they just accepted that this was something Rin could do.
Or
5 times they watched as Rin just connected with normal animals, and one time they watched it extend to animalistic demons too.
