He ducks as a wave of heat rolls out, flames licking just a little behind it as most of them drop down to the ground, away from the wave of flames that rolls a few more feet out before flickering out, disappearing in a puff of smoke.
He looks up first, his eyes meeting with the only criminal still left standing. He stares back at him, red eyes glowing a little under the harsh sun. He stands a moment later, unlooping a piece of rope from his belt and hoping it’s enough for the other four criminals.

Summary
He’s…not sure what to do.
The wagon is gone, completely blasted to bits, with several timbers laying just a few metres in front of him. One is still on fire, flames licking along the wood and threatening to spread to the rest of the remnants.
He doesn't make a move to put it out though, ears still ringing from the sound of the explosion. There’s no gunpowder left, no export for him to sell. He can hear murmuring behind him, people whispering to their neighbours as he continues to stand there and stare at the wreckage.

Summary
He watches the way he stiffens, his tail stopping the absent flicking and ears pricking forward as he stares at Revenge. He knows the Sheriff recognises his horse, he would be stupid if he didn't. He’s turned around a moment later, and he knows the ruse is up, rising from the crowd of creepers and chucking the grass away.
The two people with him spot him as well, stiffening up in the same way the Sheriff does. They meet eyes, the Sheriff staring at him with a strange intensity. He allows him that momentary glance, grinning and giving him the beginnings of a salute, before he’s off, sprinting through the mostly empty farm and leaping the fence at the other side.

Summary
He pauses at the sound of raised voices, sucking in a breath and hoping that no one’s spotted him. He left Revenge up by the creeper farm, which everyone except the Sheriff seems hesitant to approach. He hopes Revenge hasn't been found, he likes that horse quite a lot.
He stiffens further when he hears the Sheriff respond, voice distinct and carrying, even as he doesn't raise it. Technically the Sheriff was his goal here…

Honestly, he thinks this might have been the easiest thing he’s ever done.
He’s not sure who set up an undefended creeper farm outside of the town limits, but whoever it is is an idiot, and they're about to pay for their mistake. The creepers don't even hiss at him as he enters the enclosure, leaving Revenge just beyond the fence and vaulting over it, walking among the creepers.

Summary
The kingdoms he’s visited tend to blend into each other, the same buildings over and over again, reaching into the sky as though they can ever hope to achieve the grandeur he’s reached. Reaching higher as though they can hope to scrape their fingers against the same ones he’s cradled close to his own chest.
Still, the people shove past him, barrelling down streets that are far too small for the crowds of people that swarm them, bustling and heady, vendors lining each side of the street, yelling and calling and offering their wares to each and every person that passes by them.

For a few months, Grian's life stopped making sense, and by the time it was over he had scars, a disability, an arrest record, an expulsion, and enough trauma to fill years of therapy, if he ever went.
He did not go to therapy, incidentally, but at least he was self-aware enough to admit he probably should.
Instead, he dropped out of high school the moment he turned 18, got his GED, and became a shut-in. Going out became something he did only when necessary, and he went to great lengths to ensure it hardly ever would be. He didn't have anxiety, precisely, or agoraphobia or anything like that, he just...
Well he really didn't like the way people would look at him, when they noticed his wings.
or, Grian's best friend wants him to be more social because she's worried about him, so he becomes a streamer. Despite his best efforts, he actually ends up making more friends, and maybe heals a little in the process.

Summary
There, in the early morning sun, stands Scar—still shirtless, his back to Grian. His wings have dried out during the night, and Grian was right, those feathers need preening—but they're still stunning. Scar’s wings are massive, his wingspan stretching out what looks like almost twice his length.
At first Grian thinks they're yellow, like a canary. There's a joke at the tip of his tongue. Then he steps closer and they shimmer golden underneath the light. Grian stares at them, fascinated.
“Damn,” he breathes out, and Scar startles and spins around. His wings get in the way and he stumbles, almost falling to the ground if it wasn’t for Grian holding him up.
“Oops,” Scar laughs sheepishly. “Hi, Grian.”
“Hi, Scar,” Grian smiles, exasperated but fond. “How are you feeling?”
“Better,” Scar says, and his wings slowly flex. “I, uh. Might have wrecked our home a bit. Thrown some furniture around. Accidentally. These are so unwieldy, I don’t know how you don’t walk around constantly knocking things over.”
“You mostly get used to it,” Grian says, amused.

Tommy stiffens and Wilbur pulls away sharply, his eyes widening further in the same realization.
“Shit,” Wilbur goes, “fuck, sorry, sorry. You don’t like to be touched- my bad, I’m-”
or, Tommy, Tubbo and Ranboo are the new mystic shop in town, and SBI seems to have a ghost problem on their hands. Luckily, Tommy is an expert on ghosts- not so much family dynamics though. Maybe he'll learn as he goes. Maybe- if his empathic and telepathic magic doesn't get in the way of it.

Wilbur's eyes flicker over to them. "Uh – " he swallows. "Um, yes. Sure. If – if you have to."
And then she helps him peel off his hoodie. And then his shirt. And Technoblade's throat goes dry.
Wilbur is covered in bruises. And usually, Techno knows, that's hyperbole, but no – this is honest. There's no blowing up the blue and black mottling his back, or his side, or his arm. His injured shoulder is actually the only part of him that's not marked up, and Techno is guessing that once the pain sets in, it won't stay that way for long.
This, Techno thinks, is much, much more than he was expecting, and much, much more than he was ready to deal with.
or, Wilbur Soot is a hockey player being treated awfully by his team. Techno is team captain of SMP, Phil's team, and he does Not like what he sees.
