A low snarl tore from his throat as his quills bristled, his eyes burning with an eerie glow. A dark stir of energy rippled inside him, and he gasped, clutching his chest in pain. This time, it felt different—stronger, deeper. Shadow had always dismissed Doom's threats, confident in his belief that no force could break him. He was the ultimate life form, the one being with the strength to resist the Black Arms' control. But in this moment, Shadow felt a stark vulnerability unlike any he'd known before. The sky pulsed with another wave of crimson as the structures in the distance finished coalescing. “I am inevitable. You are nothing.” Doom's voice echoed, and Shadow screamed, agony seizing his body, as something darker took hold of him.

What if Shadow struggled more with resisting Doom's control in SXSG? Not everything can be overcome with sheer willpower alone. How long can someone truly fight against the very biology and impulses that define them?

Summary
While Sonic the Hedgehog comes face to face with his own fragility, Shadow the Hedgehog had somehow found himself in yet another situation with Sonic, as the two always happen to constantly bump into each other, albeit intentionally, for a pathetic reason, or under more special circumstances.
And this time, if Shadow didn't act in a timely manner, he may lose the only being that potentially understood him, matched him in strength, and dare he say it, has grown to care for.

Summary
Sonic and Tails are more than just best friends. They are brothers, and through every hardship that's been thrown at them, they've gotten through it together. But when Infinite's attack leads to Sonic's imprisonment and Tails believing him dead, holding onto hope becomes impossible. Infinite is planning more than just torture for Sonic. He wants to tear apart his mind until he can't tell illusion from reality, or remember if the young fox is his dearest friend or an enemy trying to kill him.
Tails, meanwhile, refuses to accept that Sonic is dead, and will do anything to get him back. But even if he succeeds, nothing will ever be the same. The war in the outside world continues to destroy everything that the gang holds dear, but when the damage is deep within, how can it ever be rebuilt?
