Margot takes another drag on her cigarette. The smoke puffs into the air in a small, controlled version of the explosion she'd seen minutes before. The cheese from the burger isn't melted anymore; it's started to solidify just a little. Her teeth still sink through it with ease as she takes the penultimate bite.
She throws the last chip to a passing seagull. The bird is uninterested and the chip falls into the ocean.
"Throwing food, Margot? Tsk."
Her head jerks up; Slowik is standing there on the shore, pristine, not a mark on him. Margot's eyes flicker, just for a moment, back to the destroyed restaurant.
"Thought you were gonna die, too?" She questions.
He blinks. "You didn't. Why should I?"

But, in the privacy of her own chambers, when she softens enough to whimper and gasp, to press elegant, fine-boned fingers over her own mouth to stifle any louder sounds… then, he loves her, loves her soft and delicate edges, loves the fact that he is the only one allowed to see her like this.
