Like an archivist, Jay continues dutifully onward. He noses along the curve of Matt's neck, smelling the sweat there, going dizzy with desire, before moving his lips to the corner of Matt's mouth. And then his cheek. Jawline. Up around the temples and back down around the ear, neck, throat, collar bones, shoulders. Jay moves with a ruthlessness dedicated to worshiping every inch of Matt until he's squirming.
"Jesus, Bird," Matt pants, "is this what you're like with women? Coming on kind of strong, eh?"
Jay doesn't look up from where he's sucking at a mole on Matt's stomach. "You like it."
Matt's leg hooks itself over Jay's back.

Summary
It’s taking longer than Jay thought it would to get back on his feet.
He can’t afford his own place, so he’s still living with Matt. They move through each other’s lives like the other is invisible. Or, at least, that’s true of Jay. Matt keeps doing things for him that Jay would tell him to stop doing if he could see him. Jay wakes up and finds his water bottle full, finds breakfast on the kitchen counter with a fork and knife on a napkin alongside it, finds his bed made and his laundry done. These are, maybe importantly, things that Matt has never done for him before. And still.

“Step two! We go to the Rivoli…we say ‘Hi we just got married and this is our reception. Oh look, here comes the wedding band now!’ But OH-WHAT’S THIS?
Step three! SURPRISE! We ARE the band!” Capping the marker with a triumphant snap, Matt wheeled around to face Jay who had wrapped them up with a few joyous notes that sounded like the morning sunshine flooding their living room.

He befriends Chrissy and grows as thick as thieves with her. Over the summer he adds Robin to his friends as well. Meanwhile Eddie seems to have taken an interest in the fallen king, but Steve can’t figure out quite yet why Eddie is talking with him. Flirting with him?
AKA a rewrite from after season 2 till after season 4 where Chrissy survives and Steve and Eddie get together that explores Steve's fall to the bottom of the social ladder and the what if he was gay and knew.
