Summary
After the divorce and Stolas' banishment, Stella finally sees herself as a free noblewoman. She has the choice (and her ex husband's wealth) to do whatever she pleases, when she pleases, and she couldn't be happier. But, as she keeps learning, good things never last and her father breaks the illusion when he arranges a new marriage for her.
The arrangement requires that she move in the northern regions of Pride, where her future husband's estate is. On her way there, her convoy is attacked by a pack of revolutionaries and she barely escapes with her life. On the outbreak of an imp uprising, where - after having witnessed one of their kind being framed by a royal and almost get killed on live television, at the whims of royalty - the lower class is ready to draw blood, Stella finds herself lost in the Wrathian desert, with nothing but a necklace with a sigil as her only hope of getting out alive.
Fortunately, an unexpected traveling partner might be just what she needs.

Summary
Stolas has been adapting well to commoner life and work at I.M.P. in the months following Sinsmas. His only complaint is that has yet to redefine his relationship with Blitzø. He still has deep feelings for the imp, but he is not convinced that they are returned. Blitzø is out at night more frequently than he is home, but he will not explain what he is up to.
Stolas starts to hear rumors about a tall imp wearing cowboy boots frequently visiting Andrealphus in the dead of night. Andrealphus is reported to be smugly satisfied on the mornings after his late night visits.
Stolas embarks on a solo mission to figure out where Blitzø keeps disappearing to at night and if he has been climbing into bed with his ex-brother-in-law. But, is Stolas heading for heartbreak?
