Summary
Ren was having a pretty productive day, all things considered.
Everything was falling into place. Ducks and rows and the former in the latter, that sort of thing.
Akechi was currently stewing in enough rage to make his cell start steaming, no doubt, and he was just about to add fuel to the fire. Ren had to actively fight a grin as he walked into the police station.
OR: It's a lovely day for an interrogation and Ren is a horrible little detective.

Summary
…and why the political choices of literally any noble in Fódlan are guaranteed to suck major ass for 99% of the population in-universe no matter how good their intentions are.
1. Introduction to Fódlan's politics: the Overton window shattered at the start of written history (feat. how Nemesis permanently poisoned the well)
2. Absolute emperor, chieftain king, merchant prince: the three different Fódlans and why the lords (and their fans) talk past each other
3. Meet Potential Church: or, how 99% of problems in the game wouldn’t have happened if the Church of Seiros were actual theocrats
4. Empire, uncuck thyself: or, why it makes perfect political sense for the heir to an empire to ally with its worst disease and fight its first partner
5. The goddess is an armed commoner: Byleth’s inherently destabilizing existence and how Edelgard’s war acts as elite containment for the biggest elephant in 3H’s room
6. Cavemen in armor: the insane psychopolitical pathology of western Kingdom lords and why you do not, under any circumstances, “gotta hand it to them”Bookmarked by StaticVoid

“You’re analyzing the room,” he murmured as they turned, his breath warm against her temple.
“Habit,” she said aloud. “Three exits. Six guards. Fourteen people pretending not to watch us.”
“Let them watch.” His voice dropped, became something more intimate. “I suspect they’re trying to determine if we’re plotting a coup or a romance.”
“And which are we plotting?”

The job: steal the Crown of Karsus from an archdevil's vault. Crash a vampire masquerade. Pull off the ultimate heist.
The complication: they work too well together, and trust is far more dangerous than Netherese magic.Canon-divergent slow-burn heist fic.

Summary
“There are two people I can think of who might know anything,” Lavellan said. “Experts - on the Fade, on the history of elvhenan. Unfortunately,” a grimace, “one of them has vanished, and if all the resources of the Inquisition can’t find him, I doubt you can.”
“And the other?” Fenris demanded.
“Something from my own history, for once. Not an Inquisition thing. There is - a criminal,” said Lavellan. “Exiled from the clans. She was the blood mage who murdered Clan Sabrae and its Keeper. Last I heard she was living in Kirkwall. A very dangerous woman - possibly insane, actually - but I met her once at Arlathven, and if anyone could help you -”
“Merrill?”
_Hawke was left in the Fade. Fenris goes looking for him. He doesn't go alone.

Summary
Three months after being presumed lost in the Fade, Garrett Hawke drops out of the sky missing an arm. Varric sends some letters. Fenris books it to Skyhold.
A deeply self-indulgent exploration of ‘What does one do after reconciling trauma? (Why, go poke it some more with a stick!)’, ‘Why doesn’t Hawke cry on-screen more?,’ and ‘What if Fenris met every member of the Inquisition?’
