"You bought me a basketball team to go head to head with our mother to win LuthorCorp?" Lena asked with disbelief.
Lex shrugged with a large smirk on his face. "If you and Mother intend on continuing this type of rivalry, I might as well add some fun and high stakes to it."
Thanks to Lex Luthor's competitive nature and general enjoyment of her misery, a twenty-two-year-old Lena Luthor is gifted a newly created basketball team called the National City Supers while her Mother is gifted the multi-time world champion basketball team, the Metropolis Dreams.
The rule is simple. Lena has one year to change the rookie basketball team into champions and beat her mother's basketball team to victory and if she wins, LuthorCorp is hers.
If only Lex had warned her about the range of personalities she would encounter when meeting her newly bought team….And their Team Captain with dazzling blue eyes and an infectious smile.

Summary
"Luz sprinted through the forest, nearly tripping over tree roots more than once. She stumbled her way over to the owl, slowly gaining on it. Once she came close enough to reach it, it zipped around a nearby tree. Grunting in frustration, Luz tailed it. As she darted around the tree blocking her path, she suddenly halted when she realized she wasn’t alone. The owl hovered above a strange figure in a robe, handing them the book. Luz hid behind the tree, watching the two beings interact. 'Good job, Owlbert,' the taller figure said- their voice sounded old and feminine. 'I bet this will sell for a lot at the night market.'"

When a 16-year-old Luz Noceda impulsively runs away from home, she finds a world with magic-wielding witches, horrific demons, and an oppressive government hellbent on controlling the land and its inhabitants' magical freedom. With a fear of heading back home and a heart burning full of justice, Luz is determined to learn magic and fight alongside her new friends and family.

Summary
Luz Noceda would have loved to have spent a summer on wild adventures, mysteries, and perhaps building a romance with a resigned bad boy. Or girl. Either would have been fine.
Unfortunately, that's not going to be Luz's summer. Because instead, she's forced to go to a reality check camp, getting her mind set upon the straight path.
Here's hoping that she can at least make a friend or two along the way.
