He takes his tools to the marble that is Vash and carves until the angel is free; until ribbons of fabric are floating up in the water, until his brother’s wretched metal limbs are sinking to the depths and he is pristine and pure, suspended in place by the grasping vines that instinctively curl around his scarred body, as if to cover the marks humanity has left behind.
