Summary
Week One.
It’s freezing.
Cold presses up against his cheek and shoulder. The cotton tee, sweatpants and polyester socks aren’t nearly enough to keep out the chill. He doesn’t want to be dramatic, but if his bones turned to ice, he wouldn’t be surprised. His shoulder aches, bruised and stiff. He’d roll over to the other one if it didn’t feel the exact same. He’s choosing the lesser evil, it would seem. There’s been a lot of that this week.
The shackle around his ankle is tight and uncomfortable, the chain attached to it even more so. Every time he so much as twitches, it clinks against itself. Dick’s backed himself into quite the corner. Pinned by his own stupidity and ego. It’s clear the Titans aren’t on par. They were never on par. Slade had been six steps ahead the whole time, and now— well. Now he has what he wants.
Dick shudders.
An apprentice. How had he missed that?

Summary
Spending time with the Winx had certainly caused all of them to grow a little softer over time – and Brandon, unlike a certain broody guy they all know, meant that in the best way possible – but it was hard to forget years of being taught otherwise. Fairies were living proof that the amounts of bright colours and glitter one adorned themselves with said absolutely nothing about one’s ability to kick ass though, and Brandon appreciated that fact.
Still, soft or not, it certainly came as something of a surprise when Sky sought him out shortly after returning from Eraklyon to talk. Brandon only just managed to bite back his joking remark about punching Valtor in the face when he realised just how serious Sky was about the whole thing, urging him to turn serious as well.
Brandon had already suspected that what had happened with Diaspro still weighed heavily on Sky’s mind, but he’d also assumed that things would turn out okay in the end the way they always did.
He realised now that perhaps he’d been a little too optimistic.

Summary
He’s sinking back in, the mud refusing to relinquish its hold on him. A shudder runs up Mac’s spine as he drags himself out of the mud. Slowly, painfully, clawing at the earth trying to find a hold to use to free himself. Small roots and grass are ripped loose in his destructive wake of panic.
Finally, finally, Mac’s legs pull free from the mud and scrambles back from the unmarked grave.
The unmarked grave that almost became his.

Ben gently lowers him on the bed and moves to leave. Johnny makes a mortifying sound and shoots an arm out to hold him in place.
“Johnny,” Ben whispers. “I’m gonna go get Reed, ok?”
“Nooo…” Johnny whines. Even if it wouldn’t be absolutely mortifying for Reed to see him this way, he thinks he might die if Ben’s warmed-up skin doesn’t stay pressed to his neck.
“He’ll make you feel better,” Ben insists.”
“You feel better,” Johnny whispers. Ben stiffens then relaxes in his grasp.
“Alright,” Ben sighs out. Johnny feels Ben’s weight settle next to him in bed. He sighs in contentment as Ben’s large hand settles gingerly onto his aching head. The combined pressure and heat is starting to ease the pounding. “But we’re getting you some painkillers first thing in the morning.”
“You’re not my dad,” Johnny mumbles. He falls asleep to the rumble of Ben’s gentle chuckles.

Tarsus IV was one of the biggest and most recent genocides of the 23rd Century - as Jim Kirk finds out in his History of the Federation History class.
The tiles of the floor are hard on his knees as he leans back somewhat, face glistening with sweat and bleached of any healthy colour. He wipes the back of his hand over his mouth, and in turn wiping that over the tissue kept to the side of the toilet. He lurches forward, stomach contracting sharply and he chokes on – flesh and blood and poisoned food, made to do what he could to survive, even if it meant using his body to make sure his kids, they’re only kids for pity’s sake, survived- watery bile, coughing and spluttering, throat wretching as tears stings his eyes and stain his cheeks with shame.
