Summary
After the events of the true pacifist route in Undertale Red & Yellow (with Frisk choosing to stay with Toriel):
Monsterkind has been living peacefully on the surface among humans ever since a young child, Frisk, saved them from their long captivity in the underground.
All is well for Frisk and their friends. All except Clover, a young boy who was recently brought back to life by Asriel Dreemurr as gift for his selfless sacrifice in the underground. While he appreciates his second chance at life, he has never gotten over a friend he wishes he had never had to say goodbye to. Chara Dreemurr, the first human to fall into the underground, and one of two ghosts, alongside Clover, who guided Frisk through their journey, has not forgotten about her friend either. Unlike Clover, Chara was not given a second chance at life, and continues to watch over Frisk on the surface. While she enjoys Frisk’s company, Clover has always been at the forefront of her mind. Unknowingly to Clover, there is one way for Chara to return to the living realm. However, Chara has been hesitant to act on this.
After all, such an act would require a permanent marriage of souls.

Clover remembers.
After spending quite some time dead, He finds himself with memories he'd rather not have.
Memories that tell him who he truly is.
Memories that haunt him.
edit: lowkey put me on the stuff I was on when I wrote this summary.
Anyway, basically Clover remembers resets, especially genocides. So he basically remembers how to use his powers from previous runs as well, and then la tee doo dee dum, and bam. Justice Evolved.
