This is Hawkins, Indiana. Basketball is king. Nobody really cares about ice hockey, except for the girl's team captain, and maybe the marching band member who volunteers to show up to all of her games.

Summary
Juliet wants to die. Rose wants to live. Juliet is a loyalist. Rose wants freedom. Cue the enemies to lovers.
My take on Romeo and Juliet but I genderbent Romeo and set it during the American Revolutionary War cause why not.
The names in the character tags are not the names of my characters (except for Juliet) it's just who they're based on lol
Excerpt: “ She’s pulling me through the grassy fields around my house toward the town. Fireflies are floating up and around us. The stars twinkle above us through the clouds. Crickets are chirping a peaceful tune in the background. She’s holding my hand so tightly. Somehow, I know she won’t let go. We reach the outskirts of town. It’s almost Erie without all the people bustling around. The only light comes from the flicker of the fires in the street lamps.”
