Part of Dean/Cas Reverse Bang 2019 - Fic in Response to Anyrei's wonderful art!
Cas doesn’t take Theo’s grace, choosing to keep his human body. Sam and Dean are on outs, Cas is still human and not handling it well, Dean Winchester is Dean Winchester. Enough said. What will happen when Dean and Cas are both human and in bad places in their lives? Through the pining, angst, tears, and happiness, Dean tries to heal Cas, but Cas does just as much for Dean when they both give into the desires that have been ignored for far too long. Follow them through their stupid pining, a cute mini-case where Cas becomes a rock god, and so much pain. Trust me, the journey will be worth the tears.

Summary
When Dean returns to the bunker as a Knight of Hell and refuses the cure that Sammy desperately wants him to take, it leaves Dean, Sam, and Cas at odds as they struggle to find normal. Sammy seems reluctant to accept Dean, while Cas somehow finds it easy. Ignoring the angel blade that he put to Dean’s throat, of course.
Charlie brings a much-needed distraction in the form of a case, but it’s never that simple. A spell brings new and old feelings to light, making Dean question everything he knew about himself. Not only does Dean need to face his feelings for Cas, but now Sammy knows how he feels about his hair. That was just salt in the wound, for sure.
And even though Dean has no idea what his life is anymore, he finds himself giving in to temptation, eyes black and lips in a grin.

Why can’t Sammy just cut it out for, like, two days? I slept wrong, my shoulders hurt, and I’m still trying to figure out what it means to be a demon. Of course, I don’t really feel up to a hunt right now. And Cas is telling me that wings are real and need to be groomed?! For the Love of Zepellin, I’m a straight man who just needs my best friend to get naked with me. And keep his damn mouth shut while he straddles- kneels over me! Who taught him to be flirty and sarcastic? Is this all just too much to ask? I’m starting to think so, but here’s the thing: I think I kinda like it.
