Summary
Often we tell ourselves we would have done things differently. But can one really expect reality to change for them when they themselves often will not? It is difficult to change the past, when one already has a preconceived expectation of it. Perhaps it is for the better that Darth Vader has traveled to the past without his memories. Or perhaps it is worse. Only time can tell.

For the man who was her husband, it's an annual nightmare, so the Emperor has decided to make it worse by bringing in the current Queen of Naboo to be the guest of honor.
Darth Vader could not hate Empire Day more if he tried. Maybe torturing himself preemptively will distract him a bit.

The cabling over the Carbon freezing chamber on Bespin doesn’t hold Luke’s weight, so he ends up frozen after all. Lord Vader has made his own plans for his son, and only needs to transport him to the very special location where all will be revealed. Unfortunately, they never reach it, and get stuck on a father-slab of a son camping trip instead. And the Force has decided that music is the best form of communication.
One of kitt’s favorite fic tropes is a Luke and Vader camping trip, so here we are!

Summary
As it turns out, inventing new armor technology was the easy part. Getting it approved for actual production, Luke finds, is a lot more work and a lot more boring. Thankfully, he has his mentor, Darth Vader, to help him sort through the process and occasionally keep him company throughout all the boring meetings. Unfortunately, his industrious and ingenious nature catches the attention of many other people, some of which Luke really wishes he could've avoided the attention of.
After getting summoned to the Imperial Palace by the Emperor to present his latest invention to the Court and the Senate, Luke finds himself smackdab in the middle of a complicated web of Imperial politics, the threads of which he can't yet see.
There lurks more in these shadows than just threats however, and Luke may not be the wholly naïve and inexperienced prey some of the players in the Imperial Court were expecting. With enough charm and tenacity, he finds that here too, friendships can be found and pacts can be forged. And with the full might of Darth Vader at his back, perhaps the Imperial Court would've done better to leave well enough alone.
Too late now though. Ready or not, Imperial Center, Here Comes Luke Skywalker!
