You had caught him off guard, but the most surprising part was the stoic sincerity of it. It was back when you were dating, back when he was unequivocally in love with you, on the roof of the dorm building. It wasn’t a big revelation to you or a serious topic, you had said it like if he had asked you if your favorite color. Suguru remembered wanting to refute that but not being able to find the words, or rather, not being able to find a reasonable argument against it. So instead he went silent, choosing to lean his head on yours and squeeze your hand a little tighter.
(This fic is inspired by Seoafin's exposure therapy series/dog days are over which is GOD tier and everyone should read it! ALSO HUGE HUGE H U G E shoutout to my friend for being so supportive and like the reason I was able to get the courage to write this in the first place!!
