Mike Wheeler spends years trying to be “normal.”
Normal son, normal friend, normal boyfriend, normal boy.But growing up with Will Byers — through disappearances, monsters, trauma, high school, and finally college — makes “normal” feel less and less like something he actually wants.
This is the long, messy, painfully slow journey of Mike figuring himself out, losing himself, finding himself again, and realizing that the only thing that ever made sense — the only thing that ever felt right — was Will.

Summary

His mom would want to reassure him, and Jonathan would probably give him some awkward but well-intentioned advice. His friends would– well hopefully they’d tell him they’re still his friends. They might even tease him about it, if they took it really well.
And Mike…
“Can we talk?” He bounced on the balls of his feet, looking awkward and earnest and so normal it hurt Will’s teeth to think about. “Heart to heart?”
...
Mike and Will have a heart to heart, in which Mike asks some extremely gay questions, Will is heartbroken and oblivious, tears are shed, truths are spilled, and love is found at last.
