“Suguru,” a voice that sends him into a feverish state, like it’s his body’s muscle memory, “holding my hand after telling me we can’t be friends? How forward.”
Suguru turns on his stool and stares, heart all broken open. He’s too tipsy and filled with too much want, all spilling out from him, something no timed smoking break can contain. When did it ever? All his careful lies, all the rules he has lived by, tumble down inside him when he meets Gojo Satoru’s eyes again for the first time in almost two years. It feels like the first breath he has taken in a very very long time.
“Oh,” Suguru manages, vision swimming with cerulean and snow white, “there you are.”
Gojo smiles at him, smirks at him, and a crashing wave of sense memory washes over Suguru at the sight.
“Here I am.” Gojo agrees easily, slides onto the stool in front of Suguru, eyes gleaming. He doesn’t let go of Suguru’s hand, just plays with his fingers as he leans in close, a faint scent of amaretto and something citrus. “Now,” he murmurs, taps his foot against Suguru’s gently, “what are you going to do about it this time, hmm?”

"Yeah." Satoru says, swinging his arms the way he always does when he talks, but now he looks like a bull in a china shop in the cramped display. "To, like, eat meatballs and fuck around. Now we actually need this stuff." He says, tugging at a pretend-kitchen rag that pretend-hangs on one of the pretend-cabinet's pretend-handles.
Suguru feels himself soften, in the stupid, pretend, green kitchen.
"Yeah." He breathes, smiling wider when their eyes meet. "Crazy, right?"

Suguru fights the urge to slam his head against the pole in the middle of the train carriage. Instead, he says: “Can I talk to your dad?”
Megumi loses his dad on the train, and finds a certain tall, raven-haired man instead.

Suck it, he wants to say when he sees the scowl on Gojo’s face. Instead, Suguru smiles.
“Hey,” he starts. “I think we got off on the wrong foot.” Understatement of the century. “My name’s Suguru Geto, what’s yours?” It’s a question asked purely for formalities, and he’s sure Gojo knows that, but he’s still unprepared for the other’s answer.
“Your mom,” Gojo drawls out, and Suguru realizes he’s starting to see why people want this kid dead.
