“I don’t think I really have an eating disorder, if I’m honest. I haven’t really had the uhm, you know, the thoughts that people get?” The need to control everything. Nick’s never had that urge.
“Then why are you here?”
“Because my rugby coach said it might be good for me?”
Dr. Walker hums, “But you don’t think you have an eating disorder?”
“Not… really, no. My boyfriend has anorexia or– had it? He’s in recovery now but…”
“That must have been difficult for you,” she says, breezing over the fact that Nick said boyfriend.
“It was,” he admits, “But we made it out the other side in one piece and he’s doing a lot better now. I’ve seen up close what disordered eating behaviors look like and how the thought patterns manifest, I guess.”
Her expression softens, “Anorexia can look different from person to person.”
Nick doesn’t know what to say to that. He just knows his body weight is too high to get diagnosed with it.

Nick develops a severe ED his second year at uni and there isn't enough googling in the world that will fix him.

That made Roy look at him. Ed was watching him, his golden eyes as careful as Riza’s were in the office. Well.
“If I say ‘None of your business, Fullmetal’, then you’d accept it as a good excuse?” he drawled, cocking his head to the side. He needed Ed to get the hell out of here. He couldn’t let him see the state he was in.

Roy had watched Fullmetal topple over the railing, unable to do anything to prevent the disaster. One second the two of them had engaged in friendly - if irritating - banter, and the next Edward was suddenly gone.
Roy blamed his upset stomach and the horrible air at sea for his horrendous reaction time, but that didn’t ease the guilt in his soul as he searched the troughs of waves for a head full of golden hair.
While on a diplomatic mission to Xing, Ed goes overboard - Roy has no choice but to save him, really. Especially since Ed cannot swim.
