Summary
Brick is still stranded on Sabertooth Mountain, Vic and Oliver have escaped Forebode's Road (and some eerie secrets) only to fall straight back into Belligerwitch territory, and the rest of the Company seems to be having problems of its own. What was meant to be a quick rescue mission on the trio's part isn't exactly going smoothly.
It's also October, so anything goes.

“Let that wall alone,” Hardwick called for the tenth or eleventh time now.
The prisoner shook his head passionately and continued his work.
Joyce, the night guard, was standing nearby, brow raised and arms crossed. “And he’s been doing that all day, you say?” he asked, turning to his colleague.
“Since an hour or so after I came in,” Hardwick confirmed. “He’ll likely be at it until they take him away in the morning.” He stood from his chair and made a great show of offering it to Joyce.
Joyce grumbled and moved to take Hardwick’s place. “All the more interesting for me,” he replied despite himself as he sat. “You’ll be the man to have to re-plaster it tomorrow.”

Beverly had firmly suggested he change his uniform before reporting to Picard, giving him time to scrub his hands clean of the blood, giving him time to collect himself, giving him time to think—too much time, he thought wryly.

Frodo grasped Pippin's wrist, bracketed by Sam and Merry. Moving as one, the four bounded together to form a pack of rabbits, slipping to and fro between the building battle. Merry, instinctively, pelted a large rock at a Warg's eye with a cry as it came too close — it reared its ugly head, falling in line for Aragorn's Andrúil to pierce it through.
'Good aim,' he panted, carding the hair back from his eyes, 'We shall make you a slingshot yet.'
'A bow may suit him!' Came Legolas' bird-song call from above. His shadow spun a swift curvet against the coming dark, silver hair gleaming with the last vestiges of marigold skies. 'Alas, we could bear another archer!'
'You would want that, wouldn't you?' Gimli shouted.

"Tis not my first arrow." Legolas snapped, irritation beating back the pain, and opened his eyes to see the hobbits exchanging quick looks. "You irk me on purpose." He realised, and then inhaled sharply as the pressure increased.
"I thought it might keep you awake." Gimli admitted.

Legolas is wounded before they even reach the Misty Mountains. It brings the company together.
