His brain replays his mothers words: “If you truly don’t understand his choices, read the emails. At least some of them.” It’s a sentiment Martha has voiced before her and Bea had reiterated not too long ago. But Philip just can’t bring himself to do it. He keeps folders filled with correspondence of some of his innermost private thoughts that were only ever meant to be shared with one other person and the thought of the press and by extension everybody in the world with a viable internet connection being able to read them makes him sick.
Most people thought Philip had a change of heart after someone forced him to read at least a few sections of the leaked emails. This wasn’t the case. Philip never read the emails.
Prince Philip could be a bigot, a twat and a deeply, deeply unlikeable person. And since his father died the times when he was an awful human being kind of expanded. But what only a select few people knew was that the Philip beneath it all, was a great friend. And nobody could attest to that better than Constance Augustine Magdalena Luisa, the crown princess for a little island monarchy in the atlantic. Because she has been Philip’s pen pal for the better part of two decades.

Andrew Rovere wasn’t exactly lonely. He had friends. Not a lot, that was true. But he certainly wasn’t alone all the time. He spent most of his time around other people to be honest. Everyday he went to the outpatient programme his social worker had talked him into. It was all about helping people to readjust their life. There were not only people with spinal injuries like him but also people with other physical impairments or mental illnesses.
There was that one night where Andy gained permanent spinal damage and lost the man he loved. He didn't think it could ever get better. But than there was this night where he meets some new and some old people. And maybe he acually gained a friend along the way.

The tears had finally clouded her vision enough, so she was spared from his pleading eyes. But she heard his chair being pushed back and then she could already feel his arms around her. And they were both crying into each other's shoulders.
