Summary
Harry decides he's done being a pawn for Dumbledore after the events that led to Arthur Weasley getting hospitalized. Instead of staying put and letting his guilt control him, he leaves, inviting Sirius to join him. He travels to Bulgaria where he meets up with Viktor Krum intent on transferring to Durmstrang.
His decision to leave sets off a chain of events that he never could have predicted, including a friendship with a boy he thought hated him.
After all, he didn't maintain friendships with the other competitors of the Triwizard Tournament so they could commiserate over what they experienced together. He's built a network of friends, and with the help of Sirius, Narcissa, and Draco, he's able to more forward and live a life he never thought he'd get to have.

Summary
Harry tries to answer when Fudge questions him at the Ministry for his trial, but quickly figures out that that isn't going to happen. He's not actually present for a trial, that was just pretense. This is a sentencing and Harry is done having to explain himself to people who already don't believe him. So he just sits and waits until Fudge loses his patience and finally tells him to speak.
So he does. And being able to do so, changes the entire premise of the hearing. From what Harry can see, Madam Bones had been hoping for that to happen so she could take over and properly run an interview as was meant to happen. Instead of being done in a few short hours, things take much longer. By the time they take a mid-day recess, even Lucius Malfoy appears to be on Harry's side.
