Summary
Sammie Moore is a Black youth in the Mississippi Delta who picks cotton by day and plays music in secret by night.
Remmick is a fifteen-hundred year-old Gaelic vampire who's loved and lost more than he can bear to remember.
They have nothing in common. Well, that's not true. They have two things in common: They're both omegas, and they're both in heat. And when they happen to choose the same shack to wait their heats out in, they find what they needed most: Each other.

Summary
Two years before that fateful night at the Juke Club, Remmick finds himself fleeing an angry mob, the blood of a filí still wet on his lips. With his pursuers closing in and the sun moments away from rising, Remmick does the only thing he can do: Knock on a door and beg to be let in.
His unlikely savior is Eleonora Pazzi. Veteran, painter, hunter... and expecting mother.
An unconventional cohabitation is born, and over time, companionship blossoms into love. The kind that, if given the chance, could last a lifetime.
But then, Remmick senses a certain filí from Clarksdale. One far more gifted than any he's ever laid eyes or ears on before. From there, he must make a choice: Does he abandon his centuries-long goal of reconnecting with his ancestors for the sake of his new family? Or does he leave the life he's built with Eleonora - and her child, whom he'd been raising alongside her - for a chance to see his people again?
One thing is for certain: Whatever he chooses, there will be consequences.

Summary
It was supposed to be a hookup. Sammie's first time, far from his father's judgmental gaze. And Remmick was as good a match as any. He liked music, he was older and more experienced - but not enough for the whole thing to be creepy - and he seemed nice enough. Kind of clingy, but nice. And the sexting really was great. So, when they finally met face to face, it was supposed to follow a certain script: Meet, screw, and part ways. Maybe do it again if the sex was good. No strings attached, of course.
Then, COVID happened, and the script went out the window.

Summary
Vampires may seem human, but they're anything but. They are monsters. Blood-drinking. Soulless. Utterly without mercy. When you look into their eyes, all you see is your own emotions reflected back at you. Everybody knows that. Especially the Moore family, Clarksdale's very own resident vampire slayers.
Sammie Moore's father tried to protect him from these beasts with God. His cousins Smoke and Stack tried with stakes. Smoke's wife, Annie, tried with hoodoo. But none of them could prepare him for the vampire he'd wind up encountering... or what he'd see in those glowing red eyes. Is he really just seeing his own thoughts and feelings reflected back at him, same as if he were looking into a pair of marbles... or is something actually looking back?

Summary
Before he can go to Clarksdale, Remmick has a near-fatal encounter with another vampire. Before the sun can finish him off, he is saved by Jane Townsend, a biracial healer living alone in a hut on the edge of a plantation. One that her mother's owner, Big Daddy Jackson, left them both - much to his son's ire. His son, in fact, wants nothing more than to evict her and claim even that small spit of land for himself, for reasons known only to him.
Kept at arm's length by both races, facing the threat of eviction, with a long-dead mother and no father, Jane is lonely enough to let this strange, pale man into her home... and into her heart. And Remmick is never one to turn down an invitation.
As romance blooms between them, Remmick and Jane bring out new sides to each other: The former rediscovers some of his lost humanity while the latter learns that, sometimes, the only way to live free is to live in the shadows.

"Prove your faith. You are a vessel to contain the Lord's dark blessings, let them come into you,"
Jimmy intoned.
Anthony took a deep shuddering breath, in through his nose, and as he breathed out Jimmy pushed his thumb into his mouth.

Summary
Remmick had come to stand just outside the pub's entrance, one palm resting halfway up its wooden door frame and the other resting over the strap of his banjo, just above his heart. His fingers drummed rhythmically against the wood as he gazed up at his newfound filí with a mixture of delight and disbelief. When their eyes finally met across the crowded pub, his smile broadened into a toothy Cheshire grin, and in response the young man treated him to a wink. Playfully, Remmick brought his free hand up to his forehead in a mock-swoon. His filí’s eyes twinkled and lingered for a few beats longer before sweeping across the crowd once more.
Remmick survives sunrise at the juke joint and travels North in search of a place with long nights, short days, and a new filí. His travels bring him to Newfoundland, Canada, a province with a rich history of Irish music, and a talented young singer nearing the end of his natural life. As their relationship progresses, he's forced to reconcile his own traumatic history with his actions a century ago in Mississipi.

Summary
The first sign of something amiss comes at supper, when Paddy's a no-show in the mess.
Or, well. Maybe the first sign came earlier in the day. Paddy had looked worn down, flushed and unsteady during training — but then, hadn't they all? He had smelled different, though. Eoin has a strong sense of smell for a beta, but he's used to keeping that kind of information to himself. No one likes to be told they smell strange, even when it's in a good, if somewhat puzzling, way.
