Summary
Patrick is living his new life in Elmdale with Derek. He has a new job, new friends, a new apartment, and a new life partner. Still, he goes to Schitt's Creek once a month to shop at Rose Apothecary. And, to be honest, to see David. Even though Patrick broke up with David after the week of hell he experienced when David ignored him after the Rachel fiasco, Patrick still wants David in his life. Even if it's only every second Tuesday. Yes, David broke his heart, and he broke David's right back, but David is still important to him. Derek doesn't understand why even though Patrick has explained it to him again and again. Patrick knows that deep down David is a good person. Not always a nice person, but definitely a good person. And he's important to Patrick, even if only as a friend who he sees once a month.
On his way to Schitt's Creek for his monthly visit, Patrick has a car accident that changes the trajectory of his life.

Summary
Things are going pretty well for David in Schitt's Creek. He works for Wendy at the Blouse Barn, and she has taken his suggestions to make the place less skanky. His co-worker Rachel has lots of relationship problems with Patrick, who works at the coffee shop across from the Blouse Barn. David barely knows him, other than that he makes the perfect caramel macchiato. David seems to keep getting caught in the middle of Rachel and Patrick's relationship troubles, which is very uncomfortable, to say the least.
This is the story of Rachel and Patrick's relationship falling apart and David and Patrick getting to know each other, eventually falling in love.

This is a beginner's guide / primer / introduction for readers and writers (possibly better titled “Guide to the Archives”, as someone suggested on Facebook — though that makes me feel like Virgil to some Dantean cerchio or bolgia, prompting me to think instead “Guìdo della archivio” [my 13-14c Genoan is a bit rusty, seriously, so I hope that I got that right]). My later tutorials in this series cover somewhat more advanced stuff, but I've seen so many people (sometimes long-timers) in need of the basic stuff that I finally decided to write this.
One Stop Shop-'n'-Drop? Not quite, but it explains a lot of things that you might not find easily (in some cases, not for years), or might assume work like some other site (which is a hit or miss assumption), and will point you to a number of resources.
