Summary
Bishop's new partner has put out a reward for Sergeant Jake Roenick, $50,000 dollars for whoever manages to bring him in alive. In this, Bishop sees an opportunity for collaboration: by allowing a police officer to 'discover' Belcastro's illegal arms shipment, Bishop will be able to see a potential enemy gone, and Roenick will finally be able to earn his way out from behind the desk, not to mention avoid getting kidnapped for money. It's simple: Bishop inherits Belcastro’s empire, Roenick turns a blind eye; Roenick takes the credit for Belcastro’s downfall, Bishop protects him from the fallout. All he needs to do is convince Roenick.
If there happen to be other feelings involved, and if those feelings happen to be evolving--that's no one else's business but theirs.

Eoin has never spoken to him before, had always remained that perfect image lingering on the edge of his vision, haunting him. A reminder of what he had lost, what he yearns for, the other half of him that has been missing now for longer than Paddy had had him. He hasn’t allowed himself to think like this. Been easier to pretend that Paddy is repenting for an unmatched love, a debased desire, the sinful revisionist rewriting of history. That it hadn’t happened at all.

Buck smiles, and wonders again at the steadfast belief John held that Buck was just as likable and good as himself. “Nah.”

Apparently satisfied with what he found, he then turned and yelled at Randy to get his ass out of the car before he cooked alive in an American-made furnace. As a reward for doing what he was told, Benson treated him by dragging his sooty thumb across Randy's cheekbone, from sweaty nose bridge to ear.
The intense heat of the desert has nothing on Benson, Randy is quickly discovering, who sees boundaries as lines in the sand—so easily crossed, and fun too.

Hannibal had wound her up without bothering to watch her go. Miriam had been conditioned to pull a trigger, and beyond that, Hannibal held no curiosity whatsoever.
Two cages. One with grimy walls, a hard bed, and the oppressive, ever-present awareness of his own transformation. One with comfort, fragrant flowers, soothing music, and the sweet lull of oblivion. And that voice – Hannibal’s voice - winding through both cages, at turns haunting and irresistible.
Will can't seem to let go of what happened to Miriam Lass. Hannibal offers to help with the reconstruction.
