Summary
After the fall of Sunnydale the gang regroups at a motel on the outskirts of a small California town. With nothing but a Rest Stop down the road and the quiet stillness of the desert Buffy is unable to ignore the persistent anxiety and PTSD she is experiencing even as she tries desperately to keep it from everyone around her in order to lead them all to a new life. She turns to Faith who is the only person she feels she doesn't owe anything to and the only person who might understand.
Will these two get pulled back into their defensiveness and weird mixed signals? Or will they be able to work through all of their past trauma and somehow find their way back to being the Chosen Two?

Summary
Sunnydale: a small town twenty minutes from LA by bus, sitting on a Hellmouth. September 2025. Normal was last season.
Buffy Summers has already died once, taken the Master's arm, and is trying to finish senior year on a Discord server, a weed-pen mother, and more trauma than she'll admit.
Then comes Faith — a thrown knife in a dead woman's jacket, the only other person who knows what it costs to be Called. Between the fights and the sleepovers and the scar comparisons, they start blurring every line the Watchers drew. The whole story is about the difference between being seen and being known, and nobody here gets to choose which.
Because the town is turning. Demons are being farmed. ICE runs the east docks. A Mayor who never opens his jaw is collecting favours on something older than he is. And the thing wearing Angel's face came back wrong.
The found family is moving into the Hyperion. It is not a safe house. It's just the last one with the lights on.
