Summary
Soulmate marks were supposed to make finding “the one” easier. Unfortunately, Nico di Angelo, Will Solace, and Leo Valdez are living proof that fate can be kind of a disaster.

His face red from crying, but a loud strike of thunder interrupted him. Nico yelped and immediately jumped into Will’s arms, burying his face into the crook of his neck.
Will was frozen in shock, still as a statue. The small logical part of his mind screamed at him to hug back, so he did. Delicately brushing his hands over Nico’s back and drawing shapes as he shook into him. His shirt was definitely soaked with tears and snot alike, but he didn’t care in the slightest.

Will Solace's life has just taken a 180-degree turn: new city, new school, new friends and new fears mingle in his mind as he reduces his hopes to passing 11th grade, fitting in and getting along with his father's side of the family. Nico di Angelo is bored of the monotonous pace he lives in, constantly going from home to school and from school to work as he waits for something that makes him feel alive again or helps him guide his future. Whether it will be his little sister encouraging his passion for art or the blonde basketball player his friend Leo keeps bringing up, he can't tell, but Nico can't shake off the feeling that something about this year will be special.

A fic where I rewrite specific scenes of the Heroes of Olympus books and add more scenes in so that it’s just a bit more satisfying. I am concentrating on individual character arcs and development as well as friendships and relationships.
And Jason knew who he was. He was Jason Grace, Son of Jupiter, god of lightning and lord of the skys. Ex Predator of the twelfth legion and Centron of the Fifth Cohort. Defeater of the Titan Krois and the Trojan sea monster. Head of the Zeus cabin at Camp Half-Blood. He likes Jean jackets, tofu tacos, and alternative music. He likes Leo’s calloused hands and warm, brown eyes.
He was Jason, and that’s all he needed to be.

Summary
He could no longer control his body. He kissed harder and almost died when he felt Will do the same. Will put his hand on Mike’s shoulder so lightly it sent shivers through him. He pushed forward so Will had to lie on his back.
It felt so serious and so quiet. Slow and careful but at the same time it felt like his body would explode. Mike felt his friend's tongue grace his lower lip and couldn’t stop a hum from slipping out. He put his hands on the ground next to Will to steady himself as he kissed him. Will lifted his head to meet him in the middle.
Mike’s hands were cold from pressing into the snow. Once again Will’s tongue touched the inside of his lip and once again, Mike hummed, slightly louder this time. The sound out of his own mouth made him stop. It almost startled him and he looked down at Will with wide eyes. The eyes beneath him were big and now worried, almost scared.

Will and El return to Hawkins after years away, forcing Will and Mike to decode the elusive signals between them - together.
ALSO: I listened to smoke signals by Phoebe Bridgers the majority of the time while writing this, so I would recommend something angsty like that to make the hurt more hurtful! :)

It felt as if some invisible hand grabbed Mike’s throat, heart, lungs, and stomach and crushed it as hard as it could, all at the same time. All of his airways were clogged, and if Mike hadn’t gotten a hold on himself, he might’ve started hyperventilating.

Five years sounds like a terribly long time. In five years, Mike will be twenty-three. He'll be done with college, will have a career, could be living anywhere in the world for all he knows, and the same goes for Will.
But five years is a whole lot less than forever, so Mike will take it.
In the summer of 1989, Mike and Will fall apart. Five years later, they fall back together.

"Exactly, you know, like asking someone to paint something... specifically," Mike tries to clarify, assuming a misunderstanding of terms is at play. "The D&D painting. I'm the heart?" He attempts to jog her memory with details, hoping for a spark of recognition.

No response. Will picked a bit of lint off his flannel, frowning. Mike finally managed to shout, his voice startling himself.
“Will!”
Will finally responded. He became still, continuing to look down. Mike called out again.
“Will! Will, please… Please, look at me! I can’t… I want to talk to you! Please, Will, please!”
His heart thundered as Will finally looked up at him, blinking those familiar hazel eyes that Mike so adored. That Mike missed every single day of his life.
The hazel eyes he never saw anymore. That he knew were too far out of reach to ever see again, and only flashed with anger and hurt whenever Will used to look at him.
There was none of that on Will’s face right now. Nothing. He was far away, but Mike knew. He knew that Will felt nothing toward him right now. Only Will’s mouth pursed into a thin line, and he turned on his heel, beginning to walk away.
“Will! Wait, Will!”
