Wolf could have won the game.
They choose to lose, instead - to restart the cycle for another turn, another round. It's - understandable. They loves the game - they and Leshy both do.
Unlike Leshy, Wolf doesn't know that winning isn't the end. They fear the unknown. A human impulse - but one that holds them back.
Leshy takes them to meet another of his champions, and see how the game really plays out.
