She can feel the lashes knitting together and grits her teeth against the pain, his healing is a fair bit rougher than the more practiced hand of Madam Pomfrey. With the banging still continuing down the hall and the events of the last hour catching up to her, her head finally clears enough to realise one huge problem.

Rick almost forgets to glare at him, mind and gaze pulled into the direction of the meager pile of cans on the shelves in the corner of the pantry somewhere. They won’t be enough, not for the Saviors and not for the Alexandrians either, but it was all Rick could find. Something in his chest crumbles at the admission, even to himself, and its shame that has him frowning.

A cannibalistic craving that sets Hermione’s teeth on edge with no obtainable reason why. It’s so built in, so embedded in everything Hemlock is that Hermione thinks maybe she was born with it. A type of intergenerational yearning for something more.
And that ‘more’ gets a taste for something sweet when a man washes up on the shores of Shell Cottage, doped out, half dead and who keeps calling Hemlock 'Silco'.

She sits close to people, sometimes inadvertently crosses personal space with a societal blindness that is equally endearing as it is infuriating, and sometimes the only way she can sleep is if she has a thigh to rest her head on, or an arm around her waist to weigh her down.
It's just the way Evie Potter is.
Until she turns blue, of course, with antenna on her head and an abrupt need for sub-zero temperatures. Then suddenly everything about ‘just the way’ Evie is is called into question.

Despite what Bilbo and the rest of the shire would say, it went mostly unspoken that Bilbo Baggins was a most peculiar hobbit indeed, and for a very good reason.
Bilbo Baggins was not a hobbit at all.
More precisely, he was half-hobbit. Though everyone pretended it was a big secret, it was well known that when Belladonna Took returned to the Shire after several years adventuring (and wasn’t that a scandal) and quickly and quietly married Bungo Baggins - the oldest son of the most respectable family in Hobbiton - she gave birth to a son who was half dwarf.
Bilbo Baggins, son of Belladonna Took and a dwarf, joins the Company as he learns more about his people and his father.
