Desperate yowling cut through the night, accompanied by infrequent clanging. Shouta paused on the rooftop he had been running across and tried to determine the direction of the sound. Most likely a stray cat or some other animal. Shouta liked cats, and to a lesser extent all animals, so he wasn’t about to just leave it struggling. The poor thing could be hurt.
Soon enough, he tracked the commotion to a street that was starkly unpopulated at this time of night. The noise originated from some vending machines next to a bus stop, lit up by the soft glow of a streetlight. Shouta raised an eyebrow at the small rear end sticking out of the little door that the snacks dropped down into. Was that… a toddler? Out here? At this hour?

Summary
As far as bad ideas go, Ezreal isn’t sure if this is the best bad idea he ever had or the worst.
The idea on its own is not bad, it’s just that Ezreal’s options are quite limited. Currently, he faces two clear options:
(1.) He can go to his ex’s birthday party and be a mature adult that doesn’t mind showing up single.
Or, (2.) He can ask Kayn to pose as his boyfriend for one night.
One of those options is clearly worse than the other, but Ezreal for sure cannot pinpoint which one exactly is the bad one.

Summary
After being alive for thousands of years, Kurama thought that he’d seen the depths of humanity’s idiocy long before he ever was forced into bondage at the hands of an idealistic idiot and his seal-master of a wife.
Given the current situation surrounding his latest jailor clearly he’d been wrong.
Considering how high that bar was before the latest clusterfuck he was witness to while bound and contained inside an insignificant human – fleshies, he’d never understand how they functioned with all their oozing and shedding and blech, give him good clean chakra any day – it was almost impressive.
Almost.
If the reason for their current idiocy wasn’t something as fucking idiotic as human politics and as ridiculous as taking wrongful revenge on an innocent human-kit, that was.
or/TLDR:
Kurama is done with humans, his vessel clearly wasn't being taken care of, and Naruto ends up raised away from Konoha by a skulk of spirit foxes and one very grumpy fox bijuu who has issues with intermittent bouts of rage against humans in general and idiotic seal masters in particular.

Summary
He knows his name, Uzumaki Naruto, but what does it mean? Where does Uzumaki come from? Is that really even his name? It can’t be a standard name they give orphans, because even when he still stayed in the orphanage, he was the only one with that name. Plenty of kids had no last name at all, which makes it more believable that Uzumaki is his real family name.
But what does that mean? Who are the Uzumaki? Is he the only one left? How can he find out? Were his family shinobi? Merchants? Regular civilians?
He is determined to find out.
...
And it kind of spirals from there in ways he never could have imagined. Who knew that posing a simple question would change his life zo dramatically?
