Summary
Verso is a brilliant French teacher who is not afraid to speak his mind. He has withdrawn into himself and refuses to try to integrate.
Gustave, on the other hand, was transferred to the same high school. Discreet and not very talkative, he goes unnoticed. Except for Verso.
Following a tumultuous class council, the two teachers find themselves locked in the school and must cohabitate with their feelings.

“Of course, you are more than welcome here, for as long as you’d like.” is Emma’s instant and smooth reply, delivered with an effortless aplomb that is well-suited to her Chief Councilor role; there’s no hiding the sharpness of her eyes, however, that intelligent glint that speaks of veiled suspicion and careful calculations. “Any friend of Maelle is a friend of ours.”
As expected, Maelle is more than ecstatic by Emma’s easy acceptance, but her mood quickly plummets when she spots Gustave’s less-than-thrilled expression: if looks could kill, Verso is pretty sure he would be lying in a pool of his own blood by now, but after some uncomfortable staring the man just scoffs and looks quickly on the side, cheeks flushed by what Verso can only presume is a good dose of barely repressed anger. “...Sure, whatever. If that’s what Maelle wants.”
(After making a promise to each other at the Canvas' edge, Maelle restores Lumiére to its former splendor, and Verso tries to live his life in it as simply and unobtrusively as possible.
Too bad that Gustave absolutely hates Verso's guts, and Verso's blossoming feelings for Gustave are of a complete opposite nature.)
