Summary
There’s a place, by the hill, near the ocean where people escape to. It’s picturesque, a villa of rest and recovery overlooking a sandy stretch of beach.
The perfect getaway.
Except it’s not a hotel or a spa, the Hawk Inn is a rehabilitation centre for those going through rejection sickness. A place where celebrities and socialites, in the throes of the sickness, are sent away from the public eye to ride it out. Rolling waves hide the pained screams that fill the night, thick greenery shield the mania, and the walls keep the smell of desperation in.
It’s in this place of both beauty and misery, beneath the stench of heavy scent stabilisers, that Corroded Coffin Lead Guitarist Eddie Munson finds comfort in the most unlikely of places.

The response flooded Steve’s chest with a brilliant warmth, the kind that came from drinking hot cocoa after playing outside in the snow. So boys could be pretty, and his soulmate thought that he was as such. It seemed almost like a miracle, something he’d have to tell his mom about when they were done talking. Summary
It only takes three weeks for the other shoe to drop. Eddie’s been waiting for it patiently, the expectation of it sitting in the back of his mind every day since they somehow managed to save the fucking world. Government agencies, resurrected chiefs of police, a little bald girl with magical powers, ya know, just your typical superhero shit, that he was now a part of whether he liked it or not. He likes it, don’t get him wrong, it’s just also pretty goddamn nerve wracking to be part of a group of people as tight knit as this after spending years and years as the town pariah.
