Summary
The air filled with the sound of rustling sheets and faint, wanton moans. In most cases, especially in regards to the homes situated at the tops of foreboding hills on the outskirts of old towns like Winter River, one would be led to believe that restless spirits haunted the halls of creaky white-washed home. In other, far more sane cases, one would just assume there was a party having a particularly juicy, yet difficult threesome.
In the Deetz Family’s attic, one would be correct in assuming either. Both were correct.

“Oh,” the voice says, as if hit by a sudden epiphany. “Oh! Could it be you’re angry because… you wanted to kiss him?”
He wishes the floor would open up and swallow him. He wishes he had never taken this deal. He wishes he simply could have been born right.
“Only… we both know you wouldn’t have, my dear. Like I said…” Breath on his ear, the ghost of pressure on his shoulder. “You’re a coward.”
“I wanted to,” Spamton breathes, barely. “I wanted to do it.”
Another audible grin.
“We know.”

Spamton's first kiss with Tenna doesn't go the way he hoped it would, and he has a few choice words for his benefactor. The voice on the phone doesn't mind demonstrating what dissent earns him.

Shouldn’t be, but a nagging little thought has been squirming around in the back of his mind lately, blinking in and out like the light above his bathroom mirror. Just a little longer. Me, here, like this—just a little longer. Annoying, really, like an itch that only hurts to scratch. But what’s he supposed to do—not scratch it? When the day’s broadcast goes so well and the new segment he and Tenna implemented goes off without a hitch and the production staff treat him like he’s a god and Tenna invites him out to a celebratory dinner with a smile like that?
Oh, he’s so fucked. That’s the one thing about him that doesn’t change.
