Without understand what was happening and now alone in this new world read as the characters try to figure out what is happening and how to live a new life. Of course, not in they perspective but in the eyes of the main characters of that world, and i can tell you, they are also very confused.
An easy reading with simple english and some attempts at humor.

“Is going to be forgiven because everyone deserves a second chance,” Fukuzawa quickly corrected. He had clearly been hasty before.
Or: Ranpo is Fukuzawa’s favorite. And everyone knows it. So they take advantage of that fact by bribing Ranpo (with food) to take the blame for things so Fukuzawa will forgive everyone

“Hello..?” Dazai muttered, his voice strained from his coughing moments ago. He didn’t get anything in response, but he knew the thing that was supposedly on the rock earlier was in the water.
Dazai stayed silent, trying to get up wincing as he sat back once more. Realizing his foot and one of his knees were injured. Gravity can hurt sometimes, he sighed.
“Crap..” He muttered, holding onto his foot. Trying to ease some of the pain with pressure.
Dazai heard something else from the water, not bothering to look up, his mind still a bit fuzzy. God, why was he in so much pain. Falling from that height would hurt, yeah. But he didn’t expect it to hurt this badly..
Dazai let out a small gasp hearing a sudden voice, his eyes shooting up to meet with a pair of ocean blue eyes.
“God, why are you humans such idiots? How did you manage to fall all the way from the platform up there in a storm?” A voice spat out, rolling his eyes. His ginger hair somehow contrasted perfectly with his blue eyes. Wait- a tail… This.. Is a siren…
