After 2 years after Jo left Meg to fight to save Tokyo, Meg took it upon herself to help fight, just not with Jo by her side. She never fully forgot Jo though, her gear is heavily based off Jos and she still wears her jacket, but if there was a chance they'd meet again Meg didn't know what she'd say. She had mostly gave up on being anything with Jo anymore but part of still wishes Jo would have taken her offer on the beach.
(Kana is Meg's cybot because it doesn't have a canon name.)
