Summary
Robby would make sure to not come back from his sabbatical, it felt inevitable. It was... was it? At least until something seeped through the wall he had built around himself, something new, something nice.
Was there a person worth coming back to? Robby wasn't so certain, but he would find out soon. -

Summary
“Jesus, Whitaker, I’m not going to hurt you.”
Dennis didn’t mean to say it outloud. It was just an impulsive thought that slipped right out, but before his brain could catch up to his mouth he blurted out:
“Could you?”
OR
Dennis thinks he needs to be punished in order to be saved and Robby is more than willing to save him. The two start a worryingly under negotiated relationship. Boundaries are crossed, kinks are explored and sexual awakenings are had.

Summary
“Whitaker, you need to sit down. You have a concussion.” The voice next to him tries to tell him, and it's almost familiar this time.
“Yeah I realized that, I am a fuckin' doctor. Student doctor. Whatever.” he replies, turning to squint at the man sitting next to him. “Look, can you just get Dr. Robby? He’ll tell you I'm fine, I gotta get back to work, I got… patients and shit.”
The man looks at someone behind him, some expression he can’t quite figure out. He starts to say something else, and—oh shit he’s gonna throw up fuck—he tries to lean away and not vomit all over anyone else. He doesn't quite make it.
“Shit,” yeah, he definitely ruined that guy’s shoes. Whoops. “Sorry.”

Summary
"Is this what you want?" Mel asked, eyes searching his face so urgently he could barely track them.
Frank sighed, stretching out his neck and closing his eyes. "It's what she wants—"
"You, Frank," Mel interrupted. "I don't care about Abby. What do you want?"
He wet his lips, rubbing them together as he watched her sit with a hand on the door, ready to leave the car at any given moment. Then, he nodded. "Yeah," he said simply. "I want this."
She shook her head, gathering her bag from by her feet and pushing the door open. "Then have it," she said, forcing herself out. "Just don't expect me to watch."

“You kiss our kids with that mouth?” he said teasingly.
“My kids.” She mutters through gritted teeth.
He turns slightly towards her, a shit eating grin and leans in. “Our kids, Dr. King.” He whispers in her ear. “You didn’t make ‘em all by yourself. And believe me, I remember those nights way too well.”

Summary
Frank would like it to be noted for the record that he tried. He really did. When he came home from rehab and wasn’t presented with divorce papers, but instead a tired smile from his wife and the offer to see a marriage counselor, Frank had every intention of making his marriage work. Everything that happened since was unplanned and out of his control. Well, not entirely. But you can’t control your feelings, can you? That’s what he tells his sponsor when trying to justify the mess he got himself into.
What was he supposed to do? Not fall in love with Mel King? He wasn’t super-human.

Summary
Dr. Melissa King and Dr. Frank Langdon could not be any more different from each other, except for certain instances where they are too similar for comfort. He struggles to embrace the goodness in his life after a stint in rehab and a failed marriage, she is too used to doing everything by herself that it makes her incapable of accepting help – and none of them consider themselves particularly lucky or unlucky despite all of it. Not until they realize that their presence in each other's lives is nothing short of a blessing from their lucky stars.
A story where Mel and Frank desperately want to take care of one another and they try their very best to succeed in the task.

And then Santos says — because of course she does, of course they would, of course it’s her fault — “And Langdon would be awful in bed, of course.” Mel blinks.
She somehow hadn’t expected them to get to Langdon, although she acknowledges it’s quite ridiculous of her to not have seen it coming considering the list of male coworkers they were rapidly striking. It’s just — well, Langdon isn’t exactly just a coworker to her, but also a friend. Someone she sends medical memes to and facetimes and watches bad movies on her couch to decompress, someone who pays for her coffee when she’s not looking and talks her down from the egde of a spiral and has met Becca. He’s — He’s Frank to her, and it’s weird to— talk about him that way. Extremely inappropriate, beyond what HR demands.
Still, Mel thinks she should defend his honor, and notes, “I think you might be letting your biases influence your judgment.”
or mel can't stop thinking about how frank's like in bed, and decides she should really just ask him

And then he meets Mel King, and she changes that.
(She changes everything.)

Summary
When one is on their deathbed it is entirely impossible to conjure up what they are imagining. A clock hanging over your head with God preparing to cover your eyes with his gentle hands does lead to disillusion.
So when Mellisa King is assigned to the Left Wing of the field hospital where everyone who was bound to die gets sent there, she prepares herself.
But she didn’t expect only one man to be there.
Frank Langdon.
10 hours max she believed the man would live.
10 hours max is what took her to believe in everything once more while losing everything once more. -

“Dr. Mohan,” he greets, sliding his glass tumbler back to the bartender. “Another whiskey, please.” The bartender nods and grabs the glass, sliding Samira her drink. She takes a sip, plasters on a smile, and turns to face him.
“Dr. Abbot, lovely of you to join us,” she says, decidedly not letting her gaze leave his face. His stare feels like a challenge.
“Oh, I could never miss out on the event of the year,” he jokes, his eyes tracking her movement as she brings her drink to her lips. “Plus, Robby would throw me off the roof if I made him do all the schmoozing himself.”

Summary
Frank Langdon was hiding something. Mel had been working with him for three months now, and she'd noticed it; she knew others did too, and she'd heard Santos ask why Langdon was always checking his phone between cases. The others just brushed it off, used to his behaviour, it's just Langdon.
What no one at The Pitt knew was that Frank had been a father since he was seventeen. While everyone else was figuring out college applications and dorm rooms, he was learning how to warm bottles at 3 a.m., how to study with a baby monitor beside his textbooks.
He can't keep this secret for long, though. Maybe he'll gain a family for himself and his daughter from this, and Mel will gain some more appreciation for the senior resident and maybe some other feelings.
(Langdon was never a drug addict and never married Abby AU)

Summary
Is that the kind of person Robby thinks he is? Someone who would cheat? It’s strangely hurtful. If Robby had reached out and punched him in the ribs it might’ve been less painful than the ache he feels in his chest right now. Thou shalt not commit adultery. He doesn’t think you need to be Christian to know that’s one of the big ones. Not that Dennis is so religious anymore, but– he’s a good person. He likes to think he is, anyway.
Dennis stares at Robby, swaying lightly, and says, “Wait you– what, you think I’m dating Amy and sleeping with you?”
The day before Robby's sabbatical, he and Dennis have a misunderstanding.

"I think it’s not about other people’s trust in you. It’s more about if you trust yourself.”
Frank trusts himself with a lot of things—saving a patient’s life, taking care of his kids, calling someone when he’s craving benzos. But with Mel? She’s so rare, so precious. How could he ever trust himself with that?

"Significant pulmonary contusion and multiple rib fractures, and there's very likely a subdural hematoma in there too,” Garcia says grimly, sounding like she's citing it to herself rather than to anyone else in the room. “We’re lucky it's most probably small, but given her fluctuating GCS it still concerns me quite a bit. Also, besides the shard of metal, the bruising and swelling along her abdomen suggests the possibility of internal bleeding as well, but we need to get in the OR to fully evaluate the severity of it."
“Jesus King,” he murmurs. “You were supposed to have the day off.”
or: there's a car accident on mel's day off. she ends up at the pitt anyways.
