Teddy further restrains Jonathan by pinning him down with both of his hands. Gaze fixes on him, the same inscrutable dark eyes, now scanning, observes; doesn’t seem like a man consumed by lust.
Jonathan blinks, flickers just so a hint of uncertainty.
“You’ve never done this before. Haven't you.” Teddy says.
The target saw through him.
It’s true. Jonathan has never had sex with a man before. Foolishly he didn’t fully consider it being a real possibility with Teddy, not until it’s too pathetically late.
“Stay.” Teddy commands, lets go of his wrists, then moves to the edge of the bed. Pulling Jonathan legs closer down to his side.
“Lie on your stomach.”

There are two main things that Star Fleet teaches when it comes to handling visitors. 1. Always keep at a safe distance till you are certain the individual is not armed, this has proven difficult amongst the endless possibilities for weaponry that present themselves to the ship. 2. Only approach if you are certain that the individual or group can’t be mediated with from a distance.
The blonde man (obviously not his Spock), who’s glasses have all but repelled themselves from his face, curled in on himself on the transporter pad passes both those requirements. There's a new recruit on the Enterprise it appears.

It is an interesting coincidence that both Erid and Vulcan are based in the same star system, it is also an interesting coincidence that the USS Enterprise and the Hail Mary occupy the same exact physical plane when a transporter incident disappears one Cmdr. S'chan T'gai Spock and Dr. Ryland Grace from their respective ships.

Summary
Many long hexades had gone by since Grace's passing, and Rocky was now considered ancient even by Eridian standards. That doesn't mean he'll idly sit back as an experiment, especially one with the potential to help him better understand his dear friend, is threatened by early termination over something as petty as 'participant distress'.
In fact, Rocky found himself quite excited to volunteer, and try everything out for himself.
