The problem is, she sees the world in black and white: good and evil, light and dark, missing all the shades of grey Sauron believes in. If she only had a taste of power, she’d be able to see the nuance in the world—in him—wouldn’t she?
He could give that to her.OR: What if Sauron only made one ring and he gave it to Galadriel?

Summary
Melkor and Ungoliant successfully destroy the Two Trees and open the Door of Night, unleashing all the horrors of the Void into the world. They capture and claim Valinor as their own for their legion, slaughtering all who do not bow. The Valar flee during the onslaught, leaving the Elves to the mercy of the monsters. Mairon, already corrupted and having watched a young Artanis from afar while lusting after her, seeks her out in the madness and finds her amongst the dead of her family. She hid herself away as they were slaughtered, and Mairon claims to be part of her family to earn her trust, scoops her up, and whisks her away.
He could withstand any darkness as long as she was here with him, his guiding light. His little Elf. His Artanis.
In which Artanis thinks Mairon is her rescuer, but it couldn't be further from the truth.

A swig of the mulled wine manages to get unpleasantly lodged in Halbrand's windpipe. “Oh,” her eyes narrow at the thinly disguised laughter in the wet of his cough; other patrons around them turning to investigate the source of such a noise. “Oh—Galadriel.”
Or: Galadriel is a 5,000 year old virgin, and Halbrand decides to change that.
