Summary
"As if on cue, the ground bridge opened up. Breakdown dragged Smokescreen through the bridge, to the Nemesis. Knockout could only watch in horror as both his teammate and his body left him behind."
During their usual skirmishes, a freak accident causes Smokescreen and Knockout to swap bodies. Each experience the chaos the other lives through, developing a deeper understanding of the opposing factions, one another, and the desires within themselves.
Following this, they continue to push for further understanding. Friendships are made, alliances destroyed, lives forever changed.

Optimus spun, his battle mask snapping into place as his ion cannons materialised from subspace. His optics widened as a massive, grey tiltrotor aircraft hurtled out of the sky, slamming into Bumblebee with bone-rattling force. Optimus rushed toward Bumblebee, pushing the smaller bot up. “Bumblebee, are you functional?” he asked, concern clearly in his tone. Bumblebee nodded, rubbing the scuff marks on his backplates.
The situation grew more dire as the aircraft dove toward them again. Optimus braced himself, but something felt... off. As the craft neared, it began to shift. The aircraft… transformed?? A Cybertronian? Oh Primus was that…“Megatron?” he whispered

But pursuing studies at the Academy only deepened the shadows around him, whispers following every step. They called him the Prime’s favourite. They said he didn’t earn his place.
When Bee said Council started corrupting, nobody was on his side. Bee decided to take initiative by only way he knew how – a path to tear down the corrupt Council rotting Cybertron from within.
He embraced what they had always feared him to be.
He became what they made him.
