Tiger looks at him like he’s crazy, because he definitely looks fucking crazy. But as Kid tugs on his arm and drags him to the exit, Tiger looks back and sees a crowd of shambling people starting to pick up their pace towards them. Unsettling groans filling the tunnel and bouncing off the walls, echoing everywhere.

The Machine Herald’s relationship with the Viktor of this universe is complicated, to say the least.
Viktor’s an emotional wreck. He bites back smiles at the Defender’s every joke and fondly recalls the Herald’s previous visit and leans into his Jayce’s touch like an eclipsed moon doting on a planet.
Perhaps it’s not so complicated, actually. What the Herald is feeling more than anything about the ghost of his former self is disappointment.
