It should be aggravating. After all, he didn’t sign up to sit in Kitty’s cousin’s home for hours pretending to be a client, nor did he appreciate the ahjumma yelling at them to get out the house. He should be annoyed with Kitty for not thinking her plans through and for expecting a positive outcome to all her actions. He should dislike her. That would make his life a lot easier.
How unfortunate for him that Kitty was impossible to dislike.
The grip with which he held onto her started to strain his arms and he slowly loosened up. She was still shaking, but she seemed to have stopped crying.
“Did you get those crocodile tears under control?” he muttered.
