It was a well-kept secret that Tabito Karasu was a big nature lover. It wasn't like he had never said anything appreciatory of the scenery before, but it was a little embarrassing to admit that he was the kind of guy who still got excited over the little things like blooming buds and sunsets. He'd rather keep that part of his personality to himself.
But when a certain best friend of his shows up as he's helping out a newly-emerged butterfly at a local park, Karasu realizes that there are some people who he's okay with getting to see his inner self a bit more.

Summary
As an up-and-coming competitive Pokémon battling duo and longtime friends, Karasu Tabito and Otoya Eita have some time to prepare for their next big double battle tournament. So, as part of their pre-tournament training, Karasu decides their first stop would be in the Hoenn region and he's more than ready to put his best foot forward and take their week long training session seriously.
Otoya, however, has other plans... Most of which include sleeping off the summertime heat, dreaming of Unova and its delicious (and cold!) Casteliacones, and wishing he was anywhere but holed up in an AC-less secret base with an annoying, over-analyzing battle nerd nagging in his ear every day. Otoya's not sure what will come first: him melting underneath the sun or Karasu finally snapping and throwing him off of one of Route 119's cliffs. Why couldn't he at least get to suffer through this horrible training week with an actually cute tournament partner? Because if there was one thing Karasu was bad at, it was being cute.

Now that he knows it isn't the case, Rin have to figure out a way to prevent the game's tagline from affecting their real lives.
"Answer me! How do you know my brother is alive?!" Rin asks, more eager this time.
The man smirks. "Oh, you'll find out."

There's a toy shop in Karuizawa, called Glitter and Gold. It used to be owned by this foreigner with a strange look to him but that's not the important part, what was important were the toys.

Hiori Yo eager to move out of his parents' home moved in with his childhood friend Karasu Tabito and Karasu's roommate(?) Moving in meant helping with their youtube career and being their cameraman. He didn't mind it but after one excursion to the Glitter and Gold toy shop, Hiori couldn't help but see those doll-like eyes everywhere he went.

Summary
As a junior in college pursuing his passion for soccer while also putting just as much focus into having a solid post-graduation career path, Tabito Karasu honestly thought he wouldn't have enough time for romance. And especially given how his last relationship had ended, he wasn't even sure he would be able to deal with that kind of stress; he wasn't exactly a fan of letting someone in just to get hurt by them. He would rather stay on track to graduating with honors even if it meant being alone.
But somehow that goddamned Eita Otoya was able to sneak his way through all of his defenses, painfully securing a place in his heart. They had been both roommates and teammates since the beginning of freshman year, and by now they also had easily solidified themselves as each other's best friend. They recently moved into an on-campus apartment with their other friend Kenyuu Yukimiya, and life was good. Karasu happened to have feelings for Otoya, but he had had this affliction for the better half of two years so it was something he was unfortunately just trying to get used to. He tried to ignore it most of the time since Otoya didn't feel the same; he was straight.
Sometimes it really didn't feel that way, though.

Eita Otoya was struggling. Ever since he was old enough to know what love and romance was he had been a bit of a womanizer, finding the thrill of getting pretty girls to date him exciting and fun. It was a fundamental part of who he was: Otoya was easy-going, a bit of an ass (an understatement), and really liked girls. But now as a sophomore in college, he had been wondering why he couldn't seem to keep himself interested a relationship after he scored a date. His friends claimed he never actually liked any of the girls he dated, but that made no sense to him. Yeah, maybe everyone he had dated was kind of boring, but that didn't mean he didn't actually like them, right? And on top of that, he had been getting bothered by this weird feeling in his chest that kept annoying him whenever he hung out with his best friend Karasu. Seriously, what was up with that?
This was shaping up to be a long year.

Everyone knows of the beautiful port towns along the coast. The lovely towns with cute little bakeries scattered around, waves crashing up by the docks and spraying salt everywhere. The gorgeous water always glittering like a gem as the sun reflected its light upon it. Those are the port towns everyone longed to be a part of.
There were false rumors of the perfection in these port towns. Perfection was what the fantasy was. Despite the beauty of the towns, they were far from it.
