They fell silent for a few minutes, Adam soaking in the warmth and life of Ronan and feeling like he’d just been washed not clean, exactly, but as clean as he could be of the thoughts of the past few months. He wondered vaguely if this was what Catholics felt like after confession. He could see the appeal of confessing sins and being absolved of blame.
“You said you were going to try to move past it,” Ronan said softly, rubbing a thumb lightly over the back of Adam’s hand. “How’s that been going?”
“Shitty,” Adam admitted. “But it’s better than not trying, so.”
