About a year and a half after the events of the movie, Yelena and Bob share a floor in the tower and are learning how to be Avengers.
If he were a better person, he'd tell her that he loved her. He'd tell her that he was sorry for everything, and he'd tell her how all he wanted was to be hers. He's not a better person, though; he's scared. So he says nothing.
If she were a better person, she'd tell him she'd never been in love before. She'd tell him she'd never chosen to be with someone before. She'd ask him to be patient. She's a Widow, though, so she says nothing.
If they were better people, they’d already be together. But they’re broken and scared. That’s okay, too.
But maybe, after being forced to confront all they haven't been saying, they'll have a real shot at something.
