Jason nestled into Roy’s side and sipped his hot chocolate as he watched the pandemonium unfold. Duke was drowning in wrapping paper as he finished opening up his last christmas present, giggling as he bumped into the tree. Damian shrieked as he was showered in Christmas baubles causing Tim to cackle at their uncharacteristically unkempt brother, which only angered Damian even more. From his chair, across the room, Bruce tried to claw back some semblance of control over the situation until it became obvious that any attempt would be frivolous.
“Is that all the presents?” Alfred asked as he made his way into the living room. “Or are there more under the tree we haven’t managed to pull out yet?”
Barbara dodged Duke’s flailing limbs as she checked the tree. “There’s nothing left under the tree. I’m surprised you managed to get all our presents under the tree in the first place.”

Iron man; yes. Tony Stark ‘not recommended’.
Tony Stark, despite popular belief, never saw himself as a God, as someone who couldn't be replaced. In fact, Tony has always known, deep inside, that he is nothing but an engineer, a self-appointed PR to the Avengers. Tony knows that he has no place among spies, gods and supersoldiers; he has no place among heroes.
So he accepted his place and did everything he could in order to prove that he can be useful. He did the only thing he knows how to do well: he fixed things, he pulled out the fires, he covered their mistakes and payed for the things they broke. Until he stopped being useful.

Tony is nothing but an engineer: he creates things, yes, but he also fixes them. Until he doesn't.

Headcanon: years after the Civil War, the rogue avengers are brought back to help fight Thanos. Things have changed and they really don't know how to deal with it.

When the rogue avengers come back and Tony, Rhodes, Pete, Vision and the Guardians have to work with them in order to stop Thanos, things have changed. They don’t understand why and they don’t like it but the people won’t let them hurt Tony again.

People really like Tony: Because was Tony who stood up for the people. It was Tony who fought and almost died to protect their interests. It was Tony who signed first when told they didn’t feel safe anymore. And they love him for it.
