Summary
Mavis is just another Stay who loves Straykids with all of her being. She loves connecting with Felix on Bubble and thinks of him as a friend in her pocket with a kindred soul. But when a toxic relationship forces her to delete the app with no explanation, she is devastated. She doesn't think Felix will notice her absence. But what she doesn't know is she was one of his favorite Stays to talk to and he definitely noticed she disappeared out of the blue. What he doesn't get is why she left him on read and never spoke to him again. Unbeknownst to Mavis, Felix is following her on social media in silence, trying to figure it out. She still tagged Straykids in her mermaid swimming clips she used their music for from time to time. When Felix is left with more questions than answers, he writes Deep End to express his confusion and heartache over the sudden distance between them. What a coincidence it is that Mavis's best friend once connected with pre debut Bang Chan in Australia the Summer before he moved to South Korea. Tensions rise when Mavis and her bestie Amaris travel to South Korea over spring break to attend a Straykids concert where they can't help but recognize the girls of their past standing against the barricade.

Only when he meets another fellow monster, a siren who he can't seem to understand, is he able to reconnect with his long forgotten humanity. He'd never encountered a creature like her, nor does he understand the new obsession he's developed. Or why her blood tastes like the nectar of the gods. However, not only can he not shake this compulsion, but she could be useful to him. A symbiotic relationship...she can make the food come to him. This could be beneficial indeed.

Maribelle was the more curious of the two, finding humans absolutely fascinating and learning their ways of life. She kept this secret, enjoying small moments among the land dwellers and making memories within it all. She wished to share it with Calista, but her sister was incredibly set in her ways.
Calista was more grounded and lived her life by the rules. She was a fighter more than a lover and rarely strayed from what she was taught all of her life. When the news came of their betrothal and meeting the Princes, she knew that she wasn’t in love with the merman she was to marry, but what was necessary for her parents. She could learn to love someone after a time, but she just wished her sister would see the harm her obsession could do. -
