"Are you sure you are alright with this?" Fukuzawa's voice was a bit gravelly. He had been in and out of the hospital since the Ame-no-Gozen incident. It was a miracle he’d survived in the first place and the event had unfortunately sparked a plethora of health issues.
"Yes, sir." Atsushi could tell he looked hesitant—he was hesitant—but he was still willing.
Truthfully, Atsushi didn't exactly know what the Port Mafia wanted in specific. Fukuzawa said that Mori hadn't given him the full details, and that the information he could provide might induce more anxiety than necessary. However, Atsushi could certainly guess what it was about, considering the fact that Yosano had been ordered to not only get some bloodwork done on him, but also drain around four bags of blood from him. His eyes wandered over the container Kunikida was carrying, knowing a gallon of him was in there.

Questions swarmed in his head. Did you ever get the funding back? Did the tiger have a play in your orphanage’s misfortune? Do you feel guilty? All these inquiries were left unsaid, and instead “Is that your father?” Was the icebreaker he chose.
Atsushi let out a loud huff before looking up at Kunikida with a surprised smile. “Why would you think that?”
“His last name is Nakajima.”
“Ah,” Atsushi paused, before reluctantly answering. “Usually when a child in an orphanage doesn’t have a last name, they’ll take on the last name of whoever is currently running the orphanage.”
“Oh.” Kunikida responded, Atsushi tried to project a shocked amusement, but it was obvious that he was a bit off put by the implication. Luckily Kunikida was too ashamed by his incorrect assumption to point it out. It’s not this was the first time someone compared the headmaster to a father. -

Robert has always known he was different - that there was something fundamentally wrong with him. He often felt like there was too much of him stuffed into the confines of his meat and bones - like some weird fleshy prison. He would stare at his hand sometimes and see T̶̟̅͑Ḫ̵͖̋̎Ì̸̼N̴̪̈́Ǧ̵͚̕S̶͎͐ moving underneath. He swore he could taste what people around him were feeling more than he could observe with his eyes.
Maybe that's why his father never loved him. Maybe that's why Uncle Elliot went mad. Maybe that's why he became addicted to the taste of a certain pyrokinetic villain. Maybe that's why, after the explosion, he stopped trying to pretend to be human - he's not.
