For some reason, he wasn’t expecting the poor soul to be a boy roughly his age with scruffy hair and striking blue eyes set in a delicate face.
Jens straightened subtly in his chair, placed to the right side of his mother’s throne, and met the boy’s eyes for half a second.
His mother ordered a sharp, “Kneel.”
Before the boy could comply, one of the guards that had escorted him set a heavy hand on his shoulder and forced him down, making him land on the stone floor in a manner that left Jens’s own knees aching in sympathy. The boy simply caught his breath and held his chin high, looking straight at them and through, his jaw clenched.
Jens drummed his fingers on his knee in interest.
“Speak your name to the Court.”
The boy took a breath as some of his masqueraded confidence slipped. “Lucas. Lucas van der Heijden.”

But just before his limbs came back online to do just that, Connor's blank face twitched. The LED on his head flickered down to blue. The detective blinked rapidly for several moments, his face warped in fear and disbelief. He glanced down at the gun, still hovering before him, before he placed it back in his holester. He looked around, wondering if anyone had noticed, and made eye contact with Simon. His LED went yellow.
They simply stared at each other. Markus's words merely white noise in front of them.

Simon noticed Connor almost blast Markus's brains out and stop himself right on time. Turns out Simon is far too forgiving, even when it involved his unrequited love. There was something about Connor that just made the PL600 want to be there for him. Maybe he was imprinting on a new freckled faced hero?

Summary
The free androids of Detroit start building their brand-new future, but peace is only relative in the troubled times that follow a revolution. One of the major figureheads of the revolution and finally a deviant, Connor now has to learn how to handle free will. The AI that both guided and punished him is gone, but at a price, and he struggles with his newfound freedom when guilt and fear are the crumbling foundations of his new life.
They say they want him there with them, but Connor can't understand why. He's afraid of himself and what he's capable of, afraid that maybe these feelings don't have their place within him.

Summary
Walter regains consciousness to the discovery that he is alone on this planet with David's creations. He begins efforts to clean the place and heal it of the plague's damage, but pauses these efforts when the Covenant comes crashing out of the sky not far away. Daniels is among the few survivors, and Walter dedicates himself to her wellbeing. In other news, there's been a strange bug of sorts in his system for some time now, a glitch in his programming, perhaps. He runs test after test, determined to find the source, but the results are inconclusive. There's something else, too; a feeling that rises in his chest and makes his throat feel tight whenever Daniels smiles at him like that. It's his duty to keep her safe. He knows that. But David's words haunt him daily. Is there more to him? Can a synthetic such as himself really feel?
